Privacy policy
A clear explanation of the information we collect and how it is used across enquiries, booking requests and vehicle owner applications.
Effective 18 September 2026
1. Scope and our commitment
This policy explains how Euro Rental handles personal information collected through this website, booking and enquiry forms, vehicle owner applications, direct communications and rental administration. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
Euro Rental does not sell personal information. This policy does not replace any collection notice provided at the time we request particular information.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, suburb or address, preferred contact method, requested vehicle, dates and times, age range, booking notes and consent records.
Vehicle owner applications may also include vehicle details, registration, mileage, finance or usage restrictions, service and insurance information, photographs and documents you choose to upload. Security and abuse-prevention systems may process technical information such as an IP address, request time, browser or device information and submission frequency.
Please do not send payment card details, copies of driver licences, passports, health information or other sensitive information through a general enquiry form unless we specifically request it through an approved secure process.
3. How we collect information
We usually collect information directly from you when you complete a form, contact us, apply to list a vehicle or provide information for a proposed rental. We may also receive information from an authorised additional driver, vehicle owner, insurer, calendar service or professional adviser where this is reasonably necessary and lawful.
4. Why we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess driver and vehicle eligibility, check availability, prepare quotes and agreements, administer bookings, manage owner applications, prevent duplicate or fraudulent requests, keep required records, resolve complaints and comply with legal, insurance and safety obligations.
A website submission is only a request. We do not take payment through the website forms and do not make a solely automated final decision to approve a driver, booking or owner vehicle.
5. Disclosure to other parties
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to website hosting, database, file-storage, email, calendar and security providers; insurers, assessors and roadside or vehicle service providers; professional advisers; payment providers used after a booking is approved; and regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law.
We require service providers to use information only for the services they provide to us. Vehicle calendar event details are not displayed publicly; visitors only receive date availability information.
6. Overseas processing
Some technology providers used for website hosting, storage, communications and calendars may process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other locations where those providers operate. Where Australian privacy law applies, we take reasonable steps required by law when using overseas service providers.
7. Security and data breaches
We use access controls, private file storage, file-type restrictions, encrypted website connections, server-side validation and submission limits designed to reduce unauthorised access and misuse. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
If an eligible data breach occurs and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies, we will assess the incident and notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner when legally required.
8. Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for enquiry follow-up, application assessment, booking and rental administration, dispute handling, insurance and legal record-keeping. Unsuccessful or abandoned submissions may be deleted or de-identified when they are no longer required. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before routine deletion.
9. Access, correction and complaints
You may ask for access to personal information we hold about you, request a correction, withdraw a pending application or make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse access where permitted by law, explaining the reason where required.
Contact us using the details below. We will acknowledge a complaint and aim to respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied and the Privacy Act applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
10. Marketing, cookies and preferences
We will only send commercial electronic marketing where we have consent or another lawful basis. Messages will identify Euro Rental and provide a working way to unsubscribe. Service messages about an enquiry or booking are not marketing messages.
The site may use strictly necessary storage or cookies for security and authorised administration. We do not currently use targeted advertising cookies. If optional analytics or advertising technology is introduced, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before use.
11. People under 18
The website is not directed to children under 16. A 17-year-old may submit a driver enquiry, but driver eligibility, licence status, insurance conditions and any need for parent or guardian involvement must be confirmed before a booking can be approved.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The current version and effective date will remain available on this page.
